BLOGMAS | Christmas Traditions I've Never Done

Hello my lovelies and welcome to Blogmas day 20! The Christmas countdown has really begun because if you hadn't noticed it's only 5 days, I repeat 5 days until Christmas! I can't believe how quickly this year has flown by, let alone December.

Anyway, with Christmas being so close I thought today I would share with you guys the Christmas traditions I have never done. Some of them are classic traditions and some of them have only really become a popular element of Christmas in the last few years.

The first tradition I have never done, and this might come as a surprise to some of you, I've never been to a Christmas party. My family and some of our family friends we usually go out on Boxing Day to catch up and have a drink etc but apart from that that's it. I think Christmas parties have become more of a modern concept and when I have my own place with friends or a partner etc, I'd love to host my own Christmas party just before Christmas like a massive get together over the festive period.

A Christmas Eve Box. Once again, I feel like this is a more modern element of Christmas now, especially for kids. But, I think these are so cute; I think it would be a nice little thing to do with friends as an extra present or if you're planning on spending Christmas Eve with family or friends where you could do a communal one. So each person could take it in turns etc. This is definitely something I want to do in the future, especially for when I have children.

Something else that I have never done is go to my local church on Christmas Eve and watch/ listen to the carol service. I've probably never done this because I'm not religious even though you don't have to be religious to go to an event like this. But I know a lot of people like to do this on Christmas Eve or on the build up to Christmas.

I've never been Christmas tree shopping because in my house we've always had artificial trees because they're a lot easier to manage to be honest. And these days there are so many good looking artificial trees to choose from in different colours, some with snow, some with lights built in etc that it's easier to buy them than a real tree. However with all that being said, one day I really would like to get a real Christmas tree just to see what it's like to experience going to get one and what it'd be like to have one in my house for Christmas. Plus I love the smell of pine so I reckon we'd already be onto a winner.

Our final tradition on this list is every day present advent calendars. Of course I still have a chocolate advent calendar every year which is probably one of the main traditions on the countdown to Christmas. But what I've been seeing a lot recently, especially with YouTuber's Zoe and Alfie. For the past couple of Christmas' over the pairs Vlogmas videos Zoe has done present advents with clues everyday to find the hidden present for Alfie. Whereas this year they decided to do an advent present every other day for each other, which is lovely. This seems to be a more popular if you're in a couple or if you have kids - again I'd love to do this with someone when I'm in a relationship or have children.

That's it for this post my lovelies. I hope you guys enjoyed, let me know in the comments what Christmas traditions you guys have never done.
