Collective Haul: Newlook, Primark, HMV & More!

Hello everyone, I hope you are all well and are looking forward to Easter Sunday tomorrow. I know that I am (too eat lots of chocolate!!!) Okay, moving on with the haul, Mum and I went to Oxford on Friday just to spend a day together and we bought lots of lovely things and I am about to share them with you. Also, not all of these things were bought in Oxford but I have gotten all of the items very recently!

Newlook

Here is the first item I got earlier this week (not Friday) and it is just some cute shorts with a rose floral pattern on and cute black frilly bits on the leg cut. These shorts are extremely comfy because they have a stretchy waist and also they go up high over your tummy (perfect for me, aha).

I think I will probably tuck a black plain vest top or little sleeve top into them and definitely get wearing them as the weather begins to heat up. Cannot wait to wear them very soon!

Secondly from Newlook, I have this plain white top and I also have a black one which is exactly the same but the hole effect on the sleeve didn't show up very well.

I will probably wear both tops with pretty much anything as they're similar to some other tops I have apart from the hole effect on the sleeve. I will wear them with shorts, jeans, under jumpers, skirts, leggings etc.

This is one of my favourite items during spring and summer. I love denim shorts, tops and especially these cute little jackets just to give you more protection in the summer if you want to wear something over your top but not a cardigan or jumper etc.

I really love pairing these with jeans and shorts mostly and I usually pair them with plain tops most of the time but they could be paired with any colour, any pattern and any style because in my personal opinion, I think denim goes with anything.

I bought these shorts/skort about a month ago but I never bought enough of anything else to show you guys. I absolutely adore these and I cannot wait to wear them in the summer. They are extremely comfy and almost silk like.

My favourite thing about these shorts is the pink and cream coloured rose pattern and I would pair these with cream or white vest tops or even a black top because of the black base on the shorts. I did pair it with a really soft cream cami top when I tried it on in the store, but when I went back to buy them both, the top wasn't there anymore and it's not on their website either therefore I don't think I can get it now.

But never mind, I will pair this with a plain white or black or even a light pink vest top and possibly a cream one if I can find one. I will most likely tuck the tops inside instead of have them over the top of the shorts.

The final item I bought from Newlook is my new white hightop flower pattern shoes. I needed some new white shoes because my old ones that mimicked classic converses, also from Newlook, they became very dirty and also got splits underneath them, therefore I needed some new white shoes. They didn't necessarily have to be white but I prefer to wear white shoes in the summer.

As you can see these shoes are so cute, the little design on the side of flowers is absolutely adorable and I am so happy I purchased these.

Primark

First item from Primark is this beautiful top! I saw this and I had to buy it because I just love the pattern and the colours. There is a bit of a flower pattern and then a raindrop shape with a pattern around that.

I will probably pair this with mainly shorts and jeans as it's quite a long top therefore I don't think it would look that great with a skirt.

Next it's this lovely pastel blue/mint green skirt and it's extremely soft and quite fitted because it's stretchy but I don't care because I absolutely love it.

I most likely will just pair this with a white top or black top because I don't think you can put patterns with pastel, if you can then okay, but personally, I wouldn't as I wouldn't feel comfortable.

I don't know if I will wear the belt with it, I might, I don't know but I think it's nice that they give you a cute little accessory which could come in handy for another item of clothing.

Next I just got some new natural tan tights because I needed some more as I've ripped all of mine and they've got ladders in etc.

Also, I got some plain white long socks because I have ankle white socks and all the do these days is fall down in my shoes and it really annoys me because I have to keep pulling them up etc. So I got some longer ones so they wont keep falling down (wise choice, let me tell you)

Lastly from Primark just some more of my favourite eyebrow pencil in the brown shade from the PS Love makeup range.

Superdrug

I went to Superdrug as I always love buying some new makeup, I am constantly buying new items to try and I usually love them. All of the items you are going to see are from Collection (had a bit of an obsession with Collection these days)

The first item is the new Cover & Go Foundation and Concealer Duo. I tried a small bit from the tester tubes they have in Superdrug to find your correct colour and it was pretty thick and it covers quite well from the small tester bit I used on my neck and face. I haven't seen or tried the concealer that is in the cap, I have no idea what colour or how well it covers as I am yet still to open the packaging and actually use it on myself. I can do a review of this item as it is fairly new if you all would like me to do that.

Second item from Collection is the Primed & Ready primer. Okay, so, I've been needing a new primer and I didn't want to spend £7.99 on my usual Rimmel London one which is also why I bought that foundation as it was cheaper than my usual BB Cream from Maybelline. But I've heard good reviews about this primer and it feels really soft and nice on my hand so I decided to buy this one. Once again, I am yet to try this product out also but once I do, I will probably let you guys know through Instagram if I don't do a full blog post on this beauty item.

Finally, I got two Work The Colour nail polishes in Lilac Days (purple) and Lady In Red (red). The reason for this is because there was an offer on in Collection which was if you spend £3.99 or more in Collection you could get a free nail varnish. Both items above were over £3.99 so my mum and I paid separately so we could get two nail varnishes instead of one. I think these colours are really lovely for spring and summer, but, I haven't tried any of their nail varnishes in this mini range, so I cannot tell you for definite what they are like. (But it's free nail varnish, how could you refuse free nail varnish?!)

River Island

I don't normally buy items from River Island because, one: they are extremely expensive and I don't think they should truly be worth the price they are and two: usually, there is no items in there that I really am a big fan of. (this is the second clothing item I have ever bought from there)

But, I saw this light acid wash top and I fell in love with it. It's so long, oversized and comfy. The fabric that has been used for this top is so soft and lovely to touch and I have no idea what the material is but it feels amazing.

I also love that the buttons on this top have a part where they are hidden which you can see underneath the undone buttons which makes it looks less like a shirt because you cannot see the buttons.

I will probably wear this mostly as a going out top, e.g. out to dinner with some black jeans as I think that this wouldn't look right with denim coloured because of how light the top itself is.

Accessorize:

This was the only item I bought from Accessorize on Friday and it is just these beautiful moonstone oval shaped earrings and I have a massive obsession with moonstone jewellery gems because I find them extremely beautiful. I love the way they shine and they are just so beautiful.

I think the outside part of the moonstone is quite vintage and I really like that about Accessorize jewellery because it gives these jewellery items a bit of a twist.

These earrings will go well with my moonstone ring that I have and both are in sterling silver which means they wont rust, they will last for a long time and I can wear them daily if I want to or for a night out. All I need now is a moonstone necklace to go with both of the items.

Lush

Now a trip to Oxford or Milton Keynes etc, wouldn't be complete without making a cheeky purchase in Lush. I adore Lush products because they make your skin feel lovely, they smell amazing and they're not too expensive. Also because I don't have a Lush close for me to go to every day or every other day to go and buy a bath item I want I always love going to a different place to go shopping as popular shopping places usually have a Lush.

The item I have purchased is from their Easter range and I am going to use it tomorrow for Easter Sunday in my bath and I will post photo's of it on Instagram. The item I bought is the Golden Egg which is a gold glittery egg (yes, it gets glitter all over your fingers) but it smells lovely and feels nice and creamy so I am hoping for good things about this product. (Credit to whoever's photo of the golden eggs are. Due to the packaged being sealed as you can see above, I didn't want to take it out of the packaging to make a mess but also to keep it non dry and crumbly for tomorrows bath)

HMV

The final item I have purchased, this was from last week, is American Authors new album, Oh What A Life.

I adore this band and this album I think they are amazing, their music is brilliant and this album is one of the best I have bought this year. If you guys love alternative bands that are slightly rocky as much as I do then buy this album. It was released earlier this year in March and they are definitely my new favourite band!

(PS EVERYONE BUY THIS ALBUM!!!!!)

Okay everyone, that is all of my items from this recent haul and my next post will be up in a few days but I don't know what I am going to post first as this has been another long post. But thank you all so much for reading and I hope you have a lovely Easter weekend for what is left of it and I hope you all get lots of chocolate eggs and happiness tomorrow. I will be posting either some items from the haul post on my Instagram and definitely my Easter egg.

Thank you all so much for reading and I'll talk to you soon.

Loads of love and hugs

Everyday Make Up Tutorial - Spring 2014

Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog! Today I have my Spring makeup tutorial for you and I hope you enjoy!

Step 1
Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream
&
Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer

I apply my favourite base which is Maybelline's Dream Fresh BB Cream in Light (but unfortunately today I ran out so I could only use my concealer)

Step 2

Then I apply my concealer under my eyes, down my nose, on the sides of my nose, my chin and on my cheeks. Also on any areas that I want to cover.

Rimmel London - Stay Matte Powder
&
Famous powder - Sue Moxley
Step 3

Then finally over the top of that I apply my powders. Usually I just use my Stay Matte powder when I have my BB Cream as a base and I usually mix that in with a bit of the Famous powder for more coverage. But today I used both with more of the Famous powder covered on my cheeks for more coverage.

Ps Love Eye Brow Pencil in brown

Step 4

Next I fill in my eyebrows and do some tidying up around the edges to make them look on point and I usually have them like this (rounded) as I find that works best for my face shape.

Step 5

I take this champagne colour from my Colour Couture pallet and take it all over the lid and up above the crease.
Colour Couture - Dramatic Eyes:
Champagne colour.

 Step 6

Next I apply my eyeliner from Collection and I do a slight wing out but not a high wing as you can see from the images to the left.

 Collection - Extreme 24 Hour
Felt Tip Liner - Black

Every time I apply eyeliner it looks slightly different each time and I am slowly getting better at apply each time I use it! (I used to get so frustrated when I couldn't do it but trust me guys, If you find eyeliner a struggle you're not alone but you will get better with practise!)

Collection - Volumising 10x
Maybelline - Big Eyes

Step 7

Next I apply my current mascaras which are Maybelline's Big Eyes and apply this first to get some length and thin amount of volume to separate my lashes. Also because this mascara is better to use the small brush for my bottom lashes. Then Collection's Volumising Mascara and the brush is absolutely huge and it can go a little clumpy sometimes but it does what it says on the bottle which is give your lashes volume and makes them extremely black. If it does go clumpy slightly I use my eyeliner tip to just separate the lashes.

 Step 8

Collection Lipstick -
Mango Tango
Firstly I outline my lips in my chosen lipstick colour for Spring, which is Mango Tango by Collection. I outline them with a small brush so I don't go outside the lines with just the lipstick itself.

Step 9

Then I fill in all of my lips with the colour with the actual lipstick and the brush to get a more precise application.
I also just applied some lipgloss in a similar colour to the lipstick to give it more of a glossy look instead of matte which I do with all my lipsticks.

Step 10

I AM FINISHED!

Everyone, that was my Spring makeup tutorial for 2014, thank you so much for reading if you did and I hope you enjoyed watching me create this look for you to create if you wish :)

I shall talk to you again very soon!

Lots of love and hugs

No March Favourites? ...

Hello everyone, first of all, I know this is becoming a massive habit! But I am so sorry for not posting for almost a month, truth be told college has kept me so busy and I've had pretty much nothing to post.

Unfortunately, I do not have any March favourites because I haven't bought anything new or tried anything different out since my February favourites, so instead I am going to share with you my current makeup favourites and these are pretty much what I've been wearing lately or all the time.

1. Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream

This product is constantly one I go back to for the spring/summer time because it's light weight and I don't need to necessarily have to wear a primer underneath it and it's really easy to layer more on.

My only downfall is the fact that throughout the day it kind of fades and goes a little shiny around my t-zone. But I can easy fix it with apply some more powder.

But overall I would recommend everyone buying this because it's just lightweight and definitely a win for the hotter months of the year.

You can buy these in two colours: Pink (what I have) or in a Blue coloured bottle and this is because the Blue one is Pure and the Pink is in Fresh. The Blue one is Oil Free so if you have oily skin I would recommend you buy that one. But if you have normal - combination skin like me go for the Pink one.

(£7.99 from Boots and Superdrug)

2. Collection Lasting Perfection 16 Hour Concealer

I have been using this product since I was about 12 years old and I haven't ever tried a different concealer because it is just amazing! It highlights so you don't even need to highlight your nose or the highest points of your cheeks.

But it also covers really well and it's amazing for dark circles under your eyes etc. I just absolutely adore this concealer, I always use it and I would recommend anyone to buy it.

(£4.19 from Superdrug)

3. Rimmel London Stay Matte Powder

I bought this back in February I think because I needed a new powder as I ran out and everyone says how incredible this is, so I went and bought one. I absolutely agree with all the reviews, it is an amazing powder to keep your face matte and it gives a beautiful finish to your makeup.

My colour is in 003 Peach Glow but you can get many other colours even lighter and darker and I would recommend everyone to buy this if you want that beautifully perfect matte finish.

(£3.99 from Superdrug and Boots)

4. MUA Mosaic Blush Shade 3 - English Rose

I've had this product for about a year now and I still adore using it. This blush is a very shimmery and frosty blush, it's not one of those blushes that is a noticeable pink. It is a very natural and pretty simple frosty pink tint and I really like that about this blush.

I love it!!

(£3.00 from Superdrug)

5. MUA Undress Your Skin Shimmer Highlighter

I got this a few weeks ago as I have been trying to get it for such a long time and it was extremely worth it. It is such a good highlighter and is extremely pretty as it shimmers when it catches the light.

The only down side for me is it sometimes makes down my nose look slightly cakey and I don't know whether that it just the product or my skin on that particular area. But for me: forehead, cheeks, cupids bow, end of nose and chin are all fine for this product.

It really is a beautiful highlighter and worth buying if you want to try out a highlighter but do not have much money.

(£3.00 from Superdrug)

5. Only Way Is Essex Shimmer Brick

I only started using this recently and it is another shimmer blush product, so if you aren't into shimmery products do not get this.

It is very versatile as you can use it for eye shadow also and use individual colours for eye shadow and for blush I use all of the colours by swirling my blush around with my brush.

It gives of a shimmery coral pinky colour which is great for summer time!

(Unfortunately I do not know where this came from because I received it in a set a couple years ago)

6. Colour Couture Lipgloss

I have been loving all these lip glosses recently because at the moment for spring time I can't be bothered to wear lipstick because it is too much effort. Whereas I can just slip these on my lips and go.

The colour furthest to the left, the reddish colour is the most natural and is what I wear mostly on a daily basis.

Both pink colours I usually wear over similar lipstick colours but I do wear them on their own as well.

Finally, the orangey/coral colour I have been wearing recently and it isn't as pigmented as the rest but I think it would look better layered over a lipstick.

However, I love all these colours and on the whole they're really pigmented and are glossy and I love that!

(I don't know how much these are as I got them for Christmas in a massive set, but if you can grab these, definitely get them!!)

Okay everyone, that is everything I have been really liking makeup wise recently. I am sorry that I haven't been posting yet again and I am going to do loads more in the Easter holidays, I promise! Thank you everyone for reading if you did and I will get back to you soon.

Bye for now,

Katie
