P.S. Love Review, Swatches & Tutorial! 

Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog! Today I have a jam packed post containing a review, swatches, and a make-up tutorial! I have kept everything on the eyes with this one pallet and even highlighted with a shade from the pallet. This is my favourite look to do from the pallet as I feel the 3 colours I used are the nicest in this set of eyeshadows in my opinion. All I used was a brown for my crease, a light matte pink on the lid, and then applied a shimmery champagne pink over the top of the matte pink to give some autumnal shimmer. I also used a white shade in the pallet as my highlighter for my: cheek bones, inner corners, brow bone, cupids bow, and the tip of my nose.Then I paired it with Baby Lips Strike A Rose. 

Review 

This pallet is from Primark's makeup range called P.S. Love and they do have some lovely pieces in their whole range that I've looked at. The only other thing I've bought from there was their eyebrow pencil in dark brown, which was actually really good. It was a good shade to match my hair colour and considering it was only a £1.00 I would repurchase it again if I go to a Primark soon. Even though I don't own everything from their range, I know it is all very cheap. You can get nail varnish for a £1.00 and you can get nail varnish sets for birthdays and Christmas etc for about £2.50 I believe. So all in all it's a nice affordable pricing range (like everything else in Primark).  

I feel that the pallet is good for the price you pay for it, £2.50 is affordable and will not break your bank if you're just starting out and are on a budget. There are two pallets in this range The Day Pallet and The Night Pallet. I decided to get the day version as I do not go out to party's that often, therefore I will get more wear out of the day pallet. In the day version there is a range of shimmers and mattes; I am so happy to have some more matte shades now in my life, as a lot of pallets I have mainly have a lot of shimmer shades. Which means I have mattes to apply in my crease and shimmer shades to make the lid look beautiful. 

My favourite thing about the pallet is actually it's size because it is small enough to carry around with you in your handbag. But doesn't mean the eyeshadow inside is a small amount as you get 8 medium sized round shades. But I love how sleek it is because it is a black pallet with the colours along the top of the lid with P.S. Love in gold across it also; I just feel it looks quite classy for an extremely cheap product.

Inside you get a wide mirror, 8 different shadows, and a little applicator. Know, I need to rave about this applicator inside because, I know most of the time the free applicators are pointless as they break or just aren't very good. But, this one is actually really good because you get a sponge end and a blending brush end, which I was so amazed about as even in the MUA pallets you don't get a blending brush end. But the sponge end is alright, it's like any other sponge end of a makeup brush. But the blending end is amazing; when you blend a colour into your crease with it, it's not scratchy and doesn't make your eyelid feel sore as the brush is so soft. Which is probably my favourite part about what's inside the pallet. But because of its size and the majority of things you need are included to get everyday eye looks, it is definitely worth buying and giving it a go. 



Swatches 

Moving onto everyone's favourite part about reviews, first impressions or hauls etc, the swatches. As I know I like to see what the colours are truly like before I buy something, especially from someone else's point of view.

 Here is a closer look at the pallet and all of the colours in it. As you can see there is a fair mixture between mattes and shimmers. The shimmery shades on the first line are: the champagne pink colour, the dark grey, and the light grey. On the second line the shimmery shades are the white and the even lighter grey that looks almost blue in the swatch at the end of my arm. 

Then we have the three matte shades: the light pink on the first line, then the two brown shades on the second line (dark and light). 

As you can see in the swatches along my arm they do stay true to colour, except you can't see the matte pink shade on my wrist, but it shows up really nicely on your eyelid. Overall I do like all of the shades, I think they are all pretty colours and they aren't that specific to a season; it's a very versatile pallet. 

I find that the grey shades are the hardest to build up colour, I do not know why that is but either way they're nice shades to use for winter. The other side of the pallet with the pinks and browns are my favourite side because the browns glide on so easily into your crease to create definition. I adore the matte pink shade because when it is applied on your lid to contrast between the brown in your crease; It makes your eyes look bigger and more awake. 

Also, the champagne pink shimmery shade has a lot of fall out, so have a brush handy when using it to brush away all the shimmer underneath your eye. I am not sure if all of the other shimmery shades have that much fall out as I haven't used them that much. 

But my overall favourite shade is actually the white because although it has shimmer in it, it's not overly packed with shimmer and it seems to come off more matte than shimmery. I used it in this look to highlight my inner corners, the highest points of my cheeks, the tip of my nose, my cupids bow, and my brow bone. So the white is a great versatile colour for a range of different highlighting areas. 

Overall, I would recommend this to anyone who wants some staple eyeshadow colours for a cheaper price but the main negative is the shimmer shade fall out. I hope this review was helpful for those of you who have been thinking about purchasing it, or who now want to go and purchase it. Now, everyone, time for the makeup tutorial... 

Step 1: 

Apply your everyday base: 

- NYC Perfecting Primer

- Rimmel London's Lasting Finish 25 Hour Foundation (applied with a beauty blender)

- Rimmel London's Wake Me Up Concealer (applied with a beauty blender) 

- Rimmel London's Stay Matte Powder 

- Rimmel London's Eyebrow Pencil in Dark Brown 

Step 2: 

The three shades I am using for this tutorial:
Champagne Pink, Matte Ivory Pink,
and Dark Brown.  

I took the dark brown shade on a fluffy blending brush and pressed it into the crease and swept it back and forth. What you can do is look straight a head and press the brush into your natural crease (mine is just above my lid). 

I kept apply more brown into my crease in the same way until I was happy with the colour. I think I went over it 2/3 times. 

  Step 3: 

Next I took a flat eyeshadow brush and applied that matte ivory pink shade all over the lid that was left white. 

I also took some more of the brown on the fluffy blending brush and created more of a soft V on the outer corner by gently brushing it down and then linking it with the top part of the brown just above my crease. 

Step 4: 

I went back in with the matte ivory pink shade on a flat eyeshadow brush to make the colour stand out and my eyes appear bigger and brighter. 

Step 5: 

Next I took the champagne pinky colour on the same flat eyeshadow brush and I applied it on top of the matte ivory pinky shade. 

Step 7: 

I just cleaned up the edges with my stay matte powder on an angled brush to sharpen up the outer corner. 

I also took some more of the brown shade on the fluffy blending brush and added some more into the crease ever so lightly to take away any of the extra shimmer shade that crept up there. 

Then I took the white shade from the pallet and added it on my inner corners and my brow bone. 

I decided not to apply anything on the lower lash line eyeshadow wise because it makes your eyes appear bigger and brighter with nothing there. 

Step 8: 

I then applied my two mascaras: Bodycare's Lash Extreme Volumising mascara and then on the top is Maybelline's The Falsies. Which you can see really ties the whole look together. I always feel like my lashes look a bit like butterflies which makes me extremely happy. 

I really love it because I feel that with mascara it ties the whole eye look together and how it's blended together is an important part for the colour flow, but it looks beautiful on your lids. 

Step 9: 

I took the white eyeshadow and used it as my highlighter. I applied it to the tip of my nose, the highest points of my cheeks, and my cupids bow. 

I used an angled highlighter brush for apply this. 

Step 10: 

Finally I applied my chosen lip colour for this look - Maybelline's Baby Lips - Strike A Rose. I have realised though, it might look better with Baby Lips's Oh Orange or Cherry Me. 

Step 11: 

FINISHED!!!

Well everyone, this is the finished makeup look and I hope you like it. I really hope it has given anyone who isn't into all of the dramatic makeup looks I do some inspiration for more simple ones. You could wear this everyday if you wanted, to prom, to a party and pair it with a red lip to make it a pin-up look. I think it is an easy everyday look for autumn and I hope you all like it. .

Product Appreciation Of The Month: Maybelline's Baby Lips Electro Collection

Hello everyone, I hope you're all doing well and are enjoying the October chill. This is a new element I am now doing on my blog and at the start of each month I've decided to a Product Appreciation Of The Month. I'll post them at the end of each month and I suppose it is like a favourites post but just a specific one and talking about how amazing it is and how much I love it. 

I recently got a comment saying I should consider buying high end products and shop in different places to have more variety. I appreciate any comments I get as I know you guys like giving me suggestions and I love receiving them. But the reason I don't buy high end make-up is because I cant. I cant afford it as I do not have a job and if I did have a job I probably would buy some high end make-up products, but I can't. I also feel that if you can find something just as good from the drugstore why get something for so much money when you could get something exactly the same for less. But, just because I get drugstore products and not high end, doesn't mean you guys shouldn't get high end if you can afford it. Also, all the make-up looks I do with drugstore products, you can probably find similar products in MAC and Nars etc. Also, my make-up looks aren't for just people my age, they can be for anyone as I know people in their 20's who wear similar make-up looks, such as NikkieTutorials and Shaaanxo on youtube. All the looks I do are just what I am comfortable wearing, if you're not comfortable with it, I would suggest changing the colours to suit you or missing a step out on the eyes or lips etc. All these make-up looks can be recreated into your own style to fit you, but all these I do are just ideas for the rest of you out there if you want some inspiration. I just really wanted to put this out there if any of you were feeling this way. 

Also, about the shopping situation. I mainly shop in places like Newlook and H&M because all of their clothes; I know they are comfortable and fit me as they usually have stretchy and oversized things which is my forte as I hate tight fitting clothing. I hate shopping in places like Topshop and River Island as the majority of their clothes are too petite and are extremely overpriced. I do not see the point of getting a stripped top from Topshop that is like £40 instead of one from Newlook for £10. You guys can buy things from where ever you want depending on your style, I only post hauls just so you guys can see what I like to buy. And if you like an item I buy but where I shop isn't your kind of place, buy it from a shop that you like. I just really needed to put this out there as anything I wear is just what I like to wear, I'm not forcing you to wear anything I do. You can buy whatever you guys want from anywhere you like. 

But moving on with this overall favourite product from September really, but it'll probably stay with me for a while. But it is the new Baby Lips Electro collection from Maybelline. I love the Baby Lips collections, but when they were first brought out I wasn't that bothered about getting them all and I know so many people went crazy for them. When they were first brought out I only got Cherry Me and Pink Punch as I felt they were the only colours worth getting. 

Then more recently, Baby Lips brought out the Electro range and I fell in love with them. I loved all the shades as they were so different and they were more out there with being subtle at the same time which is my kind of lip colours. I have all of the first 4 colours they brought out and I need to get the next two shades, which are yellow and green. 

Here are all of the shades before they brought out the yellow and green: (from left to right) 

1. Pink Shock: A bright subtle Barbie pink that can be worn on a daily basis if you're a complete girlie girl. It might look extremely bright and it is proper pink, but it isn't too daring so anyone could wear this to school or work or even just as a natural look. 
2. Berry Bomb: A gorgeous subtle rosy purple that merges with the colour of your lips and it may look extremely out there but it really isn't, therefore anyone who is feeling like a purple shade but not neon bright or vampy dark, this'd be a great lip colour to have. 
3. Strike A Rose: An extremely rosy Barbie pink and it is actually more leaning towards Barbie than the bright dark one because it is so light compared to the other one. But nonetheless, it is still gorgeous and you could wear it with anything as you can tone it out by blotting your lips on a tissue.
4. Oh Orange: A neutral orange that tones out the redness or any other colour in your lips. Once again, it might look very bright, but it really isn't. It is probably the most neutral out of all the Electro collection shades I own. 

Pink Shock on your lips

As I've spoken a little bit about each one, I'm going to go into a little bit more detail about why I love them. 

Pink Shock for me is your classic everyday subtle girlie shade because it kind of enhance your natural lip colour, but with more pinky tones instead of your natural lip colour. 

To get a strong colour pay off you can layer it up 2-3 times, but if you want a slight sheen of colour, 1 coat across your lips is enough to achieve that. It has violet undertones in which you can slightly see in the image on the right. These undertones give off a nice sheen to contrast with the hot pink. 

The smell of Pink Shock is absolutely gorgeous, if you have ever had a plain pink lolly pop it smells just like that which is very fruity.

Skin tone wise I think this looks lovely on everyone as you can make it darker which looks good on fair and tanned colour skin tones. But for dark coloured skin tones you can probably get away with just a sheen of pink on your lips.

Berry Bomb on your lips

Berry Bomb to me is lovely violet toned rosy shade and do not be scared of this shade as you can make it as subtle or as intense as you want.  I used about 2 shades on my lips to show you a medium colour pay off, but you can completely layer it up even more if you wish. 

The smell is, as it would suggest berries with a hint of grape in there. It is just very light and fresh and definitely has a strong floral scent. 

I think this would only look good on a fair skin tone, (which is my skin tone) because of the sheer opaqueness of the colour. You can layer the colour to get it darker but it never truly stops being opaque. But it is because I feel that really pale skin tones suit super dark lip colours and that tanned and dark skin tones should try to avoid them. Bright colours really suit tanned and dark skin, but I feel the best colours for fair skin tones are super dark reds and plums etc. 

Strike A Rose on your lips 

Strike A Rose is a rosy Barbie pink shade that you can wear daily. But it is very bright as it is much lighter which means you might have to tone it out a little bit, which is what I've done here in this image. It also has peachy undertones which makes it even brighter. It is probably the brightest of all of the range as it is the one that is most opaque. You can see on my lips compared to Berry Bomb that you cannot see my natural red lip colour due to the pigmentation of the pink and the peach undertones mixed together. 

This has got to be one of my favourite smells of the Electro range. It smells exactly like cotton candy. It has not hint of any other smell, it is just cotton candy. Which makes it even more feminine . 

I think any skin tone can wear this, but I think it would best suit tanned skin as it would just enhance your tanned beauty and make you look uplifted. 

Oh Orange on your lips

 Oh Orange is a neutral tangerine shade that is very natural on your lips. For me, it tones out the redness in my lips and just makes them a lovely light orangey toned tangerine/ pinky shade. This is perfect to use as an everyday thing for school and work. 

This is my favourite smell of the range because it smells like Terry's Chocolate Orange and I am in love with that chocolate. There is nothing else to say about the smell other than Terry's Chocolate Orange. 

I honestly think only fair skin tone could wear this, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't try it if you're a little bit darker. I just feel because it is such a natural shade, it would look odd with a tanned skin tone. I think dark skin tones might be able to get away with it. But, overall if you're fair this is a shade for you. 


As a whole, all of the shades are stunning, they're all extremely moisturising. When you take off the colours or if they wear off in the day you can really feel how lovely and soft your lips feel which is one of my favourite things about all of the Baby Lips from this range and the one before. 

You can also pair these lip colours with lipstick colours that are similar. E.g. Pair Berry Bomb with Sleek lipstick in Smother. I usually do this if a lipstick is too dry for me to wear, so matte lipstick would be awful for me. The lipstick doesn't have to be shimmery, I just prefer them to be soft which is why I use Baby Lips to pair with a lot of my lipstick colours I have at home. 


Well everyone, I hope you enjoyed my Product Appreciate Of The Month and will agree with me if you already have some of the range or after reading this want to go and buy some of the range as they really are great products. Especially as they're only £2.99 each which is pretty cheap for Maybelline. 

I also hope you guys don't take the first two paragraphs I wrote about how I felt too personally, I am just putting out my reasons of why I can't buy high end products and why I like to shop in similar places.

September Favourites 2014!

September Favourites! 

Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog, I hope you're all well and are enjoy the crisp cold weather. I have been loving that autumn is finally here, I can now wear all my beautiful jumpers and cosy boots, which will most likely be in my October Favourites! But here are my current favourites for September... (ps, ignore the iPad shadows on my photos, haha) 

1. Lady Gaga - Fame

I got this 15ml bottle of Fame by Lady Gaga free with a purchase I made a little while ago at Boots and it is so beautiful. Even though it sprays out black, which I think is really unique, it smells quite light but at the same time it has a strong scent, but it's not overpowering. I love the bottle as I do not have a bottle like it at all in my celebrity perfume collection and I really think everyone should buy this or put it on your Christmas list. 

2. Alien - Theirry Mugler 

I also received this as a free gift in a mini set of designer perfume from Boots. I am absolutely in love with this perfume. I think I am going to buy the perfume in the full size bottle when this runs out or ask for it for my birthday or something. But it includes an amber fragrance which contains jasmine and it smells light but completely feminine. I am very obsessed and would recommend it to every girl/woman who wants to smell gorgeous and feel feminine and sexy etc. 

3. Sinex 

This nasal spray has been a life saver this month, as I've had a cold since about the second week of September and still have it a little bit now. But a week ago or so, it got to the point where I couldn't breathe through my nose and I blew it all the time and it was still blocked. But I used this and then I could actually breathe finally and got rid of all the cold and now I am 100% better. So if any of you have an awful cold, get some of this because it is really helpful. 

4. Vaseline 

 Following on from having a cold and blowing my nose all the time, my skin just under my nose suffered a hell of a lot. It got extremely dry and sore because I was constantly trying to clear my sinuses. But Vaseline helps for so many things: chapped lips (which will blatantly be the next winter drama for me), dry skin, making your hands softer. Vaseline has been in my favourites many times before, which clearly shows how good it is. It is very versatile so get some Vaseline for the winter time if you get sore/dry skin and chapped lips!

 5. Baby Lips Electro 

This is probably my main favourite of September, Maybelline have now brought out a green one and a yellow one, so I need to buy those asap! But absolutely love all of the original 4 electro collection. It includes: Berry Bomb which is a subtle dark purple and merges with the natural colour of your lips; but not as intense as a lipstick would be, which would be great if you want purple lips but aren't confident enough to wear a lipstick or completely dark colours aren't you. 

The next one is Pink Shock which is a beautiful bright, almost Barbie pink but it is still very wearable for everyday. This was the first one I bought and I love it because I feel like it really compliments blonde hair and chestnut brown hair (which is what I have). 

The third one is Oh Orange, which is a bit of a strange one because sometimes I think it looks great on me and then there are other days where I am, oh god no. But overall it is still lovely, it is not a bright orange. It has orange tones in that mute out your natural lip colour ever so slightly, which is great for school if you can't wear very bright colours or any colour on your lips at all, but you want something moisturising. But my favourite part about the orange one is it smells like Terry's Chocolate Orange which is one of my favourite chocolates ever. It just makes me so happy to know I can smell Terry's Chocolate Orange whenever I apply it to my lips. 

Finally, the last one is called Strike A Rose which is the lighter pink version of Pink Shock. It is very rosey toned as it's named would suggest and I think it is a very natural pink for everyday wear, even though you can wear all of these everyday. It even smells really rose like and fresh which is also one of the best parts about this one. But you could easily wear this one to school as it is so light and pretty. 

But overall, all of them smell amazing and make your lips so shiny. They really are brilliant because you can have some subtle colour on your lips, whilst them being moisturised, and they're so cheap so they won't blow your budget. 

6. Quattro Razor 

I know this is a bit of an odd favourite, but this razor is amazing. They last for such a long time because they have 4 blades instead of 2. Also, they have these blue bits along the top and bottom (which you can see in image 1) which protect you from cutting your legs when you shave. They are also amazing as you can do it so quickly and your legs don't get razor burn, which is great if you need to quickly shave them and you didn't have time the night before. Even though they don't work in water with shaving foam as they are made for you to shave your legs dry, they still make your legs feel as soft as they would with foam and water shaving. So if you can find some of these, get them!

7. BarryM's Diamond Glitter 

It is no surprise that a nail varnish would creep it's way into my September favourites because, during September I begin to paint my nails in all autumn shades as I get very excited for autumn. Hence, I took all of my summer stuff out of my wardrobe at the start of September (I think we can see I am more of an autumn kinda girl). But anyway, glitter nail varnish in autumn/winter is kind of a bare essential for me because I always end up using them; glitter nail varnishes remind me of all the lights at Christmas time as in the light they actually shine shades of the rainbow.

In the glitter itself, it has small grains of glitter, along with large chunks of silver bits and medium sized ones which gives a gorgeous illusion and pretty effect on your nails.

8. NYC Smooth Skin Perfecting Primer

I really like this primer, it's in my favourites for the fact it does it's job. It keeps your make-up on for the majority of the day and it's only between £2-3 in Superdrug which is great if you don't have a lot of money to spend on bare essentials. But for me, primer is sometimes similar to moisturiser but it has better staying power if you have flaws that you want your make-up to stay on and cover.

I've noticed recently as I've only been wearing concealer and powder because of my cold, (no point wasting my good foundation), that the primer is very glittery, it glitter's through your skin which I actually really like because the sunlight will radiate of your skin. But I know duey and glittery skin products aren't for everyone, but I have really liked that about this primer because once I put my foundation on, that usually doesn't shine through.

9. Sleek Lipstick in Smother 

I have been wearing this lipstick for most of September until I got a cold and I will eventually go back to it when I am fully recovered. But it is just a gorgeous dark plum shade which I've been looking for, for ages. I saw one in MAC that was the perfect shade, but I am too poor for high end make-up products. So I always go for drug store, which I hope is beneficial for you guys.

But it's really dark but you can chose to intensify the colour with the lipstick head or you can just fill it in with a brush to give a more lighter feel to your make-up look.

I am going to do a make-up look soon including this lipstick and I am going to incorporate it with a grey and white eye, so the main focus is on the lips as it's darker than the eyes. But I am also going to do a party look with this lipstick as well to show you guys different ways to wear a purple lip in the autumn.

10. P.S. Love 8 Eyeshadow Palette from Primark

I'm not going to go in too much detail about this favourite because my next post is a review on it. Right, what I am going to say is, for £2.50, you get some gorgeous shades in this pallet. It is definitely a pallet for autumn as they are all very neutral shades and there is only one really light shimmery pink shade in there, which looks stunning with the dark brown as a cut crease.

Personally, my favourite shade is actually the white as it is a perfect matte highlighter. I normally only put it on my brow bone or my cupids bow, but you could easily put it anywhere else you like highlighting. I haven't used every shade in the palette, but that's just because some of them are a little darker than others and whenever I use the palette daily, I just use the brown in my crease to give me some depth and make my eyes bigger. Along with the white shade highlighting my brow bone.

11. Soap and Glory Mist You Madly Spray 

This spray by Soap and Glory is a re-occurring favourite, especially round the time of autumn winter because it is quite a strong scent for a body spray, but in the summer I love wearing light fruity smells as body sprays. But for autumn, I like going into the strong floral smells and this is very much that. The bottle is also a great size as you could take it in your handbag if you wanted to. I've had this specific one for over a year now and I use it pretty often and it still has loads in, so it lasts a long time. I really need to get the 2 other sprays they do, but I don't know if they only come in a set of all 3 or if they come separately. (but if anyone knows about that, can you leave me a comment to say where I can get the other 2 in England, thank you!)

12. Frilly Socks

My final favourite has been more like an obsession throughout September. It's only because during 13 The Musical, we had to wear frilly socks as the cheerleaders and ever since, I've always wanted some as they are absolutely adorable to pair with outfits, especially in the spring. So I got loads of them from Newlook in: white, black, black with flowers on etc. The only annoying thing is, they keep getting holes in at the front and I thought it was because my toe nails were putting to much pressure on the socks when I had my shoes on. But my toe nails aren't even that long, so I don't know why that happens. But it's only the black ones that have done that, so the white ones are much stronger, yet I wear them more often! Aha, which makes so much sense.

Well everyone that was my September Favourites, I know I am so awful at favourites but I always feel like I improve in the autumn/winter. As newer things come out and it's a complete change of style as spring and summer style is similar but autumn and winter are relatively similar but different at the same time.
